Maiden Newton 4th June 2005

 

Here are the photos I took in Maiden Newton on 4th June 2005. Despite a lot of rain to begin with, a 1.5 hour wait and my batteries dying just as the train is appearing in the distance…

…I got the photos!

 

6024 Enters the down platform at Maiden Newton

6024 Approaches the Network Rail hut that takes the EKT Token and let them onto the track to Dorchester Junction

6024 Goes into the distance

The class 31 loco passes through on the back of the train. This loco takes the train back to Yeovil Pen Mill, in the evening, where 6024 can turn around and go onto Victoria

Steam Train at Dorchester West (morning)

& Maiden Newton (Evening) 17th August 2005

 

Due to a Earlier Steam Traction failure at Yeovil the photos taken at Dorchester West are of the loco hauling the service to Weymouth. The Steam loco later came to Weymouth ‘light loco’.

47712 has seen the down starter signal at Dorchester West ahead and pushes the power handle up a notch!
