Class 442

Class 442 Locomotives were the most common trains on the London Waterloo – Weymouth line until mid 2007.

They provide a high speed electric service for passengers on a long distance journey. These trains travel at speeds of 100mph between Waterloo and Winchester. These trains do not stop at intermediate stops of Waterloo & Winchester because the suburban serviced do that job.

Class 442 trains have buffets and space for cycling passengers. There is normally a trolley service in operation too between Winchester and Waterloo
